The future can never be accurately predicted, since there are many variables, but possible consequences may be known. Though the exact history of tarot cards is not known, tarot cards were used in Italy in the fifteenth century.
A tarot deck has a total of 78 cards - 21 trump cards, a special card called the Fool and the 56 cards that make up a standard deck of playing cards. The 21 trump cards and the Fool are called the major arcana and the remaining 56 cards are called the minor arcana or pips. The 56 cards are further subdivided into 4 suits of 14 cards each, with each suit consisting of 10 numbered cards and 4 court cards. Since different artists interpret the tarot symbols differently, there are thousands of tarot decks available for various themes.
